Why is stroke an important issue to your audience?
Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability among adults. About 62,000 strokes occur in Canada every year – that’s about one every nine minutes. Currently, about 315,000 Canadians are living with the effects of stroke. Strokes are more common in older people, (after age 55, your risk doubles every 10 years), but they can strike at any age – even in infancy.
